Retrieving Your Missing E-mail in MS Outlook Express

This tutorial shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook Express to retrieve your old emails. This tutorial focuses on setting up Microsoft Outlook Express 6, but these settings are similar in other versions of Microsoft Outlook Express. You can set up previous versions of Microsoft Outlook Express by using the settings in this tutorial.

To Set Up Your E-mail Account in Microsoft Outlook Express

  2. Select the Mail tab in the Internet Accounts window and click  Add , then Mail...
  3. Enter you full name and click [ Next ]
  4. Enter your e-mail address and click [ Next ]

You must use the outgoing mail server for your Internet Service Provider. Contact your Internet Service Provider to get this setting.

  16. Select the Inbox in the "Local Folders" section and click [ OK ]
  17. You will then have a screen that shows you the status of the move.  When this screen disappears, all messages from the old INBOX will have been moved to the Local Folders Inbox.
  18. Repeat  Steps 13 -17 for each folder you want to move. You can create new Local Folders in step 16 as needed.
  19. After you have moved all the messages, you should remove the IMAP account by right-clicking on "64.39.235.130" in the left column. Then select Remove Account.
