Don McKinney has been carving professionally for 10 years. He has entered many competitions and has numerous blue ribbons to his credit.












Don does carvings of all types of song birds, shore birds, butterflies, decorative decoys, and walking sticks.










All carvings are made from basswood. Patterns are drawn on wood blanks, cut out on a bandsaw and shaped roughly with power tools. The detail is done by hand with carving knives and burning tools. No carving is done with duplicators, each carving is individual and unique.
